Deck the Trees fundraiser returns to Monte Vista

Special to Black Mountain News
A submission from the Black Mountain Fire Department was featured in last year's Deck the Trees fundraiser in the Monte Vista Hotel.

A popular Christmas tradition in the Swannanoa Valley is returning in the historic Monte Vista Hotel, Friday, Dec. 6

The ninth annual Deck The Trees, which features Christmas trees decorated by area businesses and nonprofit organizations, will run through Jan. 6.

The annual fundraiser benefits the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry Fuel Fund, which provides heating assistance to area families each winter.

Deck the Trees features beautiful and unique hand-decorated Christmas trees, and is a favorite of children and adults alike.

The event is free, but winning trees are determined by donations. SVCM receives all funds raised through this annual celebration of the Christmas Season.

The trees can be viewed from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and photos with Santa will take place from 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9.

Prizes will be awarded from 6 - 8:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6.
