Game time set for Lady Vols vs NC State in 2024 Women’s NCAA Tournament second round

RALEIGH, N.C. – Lady Vols basketball has an afternoon tipoff in the second round of March Madness.

No. 6 seed Tennessee (20-12) takes on host and No. 3 seed NC State (28-6) at 4 p.m. ET Monday on ESPN in the NCAA Tournament second round at Reynolds Coliseum after crushing No. 11 seed Green Bay on Saturday. Lady Vols coach Kellie Harper has multiple ties to NC State. She coached the Wolfpack from 2009-13, and she was an assistant on NC State coach Wes Moore's staff at Chattanooga from 2001-04.

"Wes is a great guy, he's one of our dear friends. Jon goes on vacation with him every year," Harper said Monday. "So we're very close with him."

The Lady Vols are in one of two Portland regionals with Texas (30-4) as their No. 1 seed. For the second year, the women's tournament has only two regional sites instead of four, with the other regional in Albany.

The Lady Vols are the only program to have never missed an NCAA Tournament. After the pandemic canceled the 2020 NCAA Tournament, Tennessee was a top-16 seed the next three seasons under Kellie Harper. This is the first season under Harper that UT is not a top-16 seed.

The Lady Vols have been a No. 4 seed and hosted the first two rounds of the tournament the past two NCAA Tournaments. They made back-to-back trips to the Sweet 16 the past two seasons for the first time since since 2015 and 2016.

The Tennessee-NC State game is scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m. ET Monday inside Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, North Carolina.
