Oakland Athletics announce positive coronavirus test, game Sunday vs. Houston Astros postponed

The Oakland Athletics announced Sunday that a member of the organization has tested positive for coronavirus and the team's game against the Houston Astros has been postponed.

"The team conducted testing and contact racing for the entire traveling party (Sunday) morning and will self-isolate in Houston with recommended safety precautions in place," the team said in a statement.

The A's are now the 11th MLB team with a COVID-19-related postponement. No team in either West division had a game pushed back due to coronavirus until Sunday.

Oakland currently owns the second-best record (22-12) in the American League and leads the Astros by 2.5 games in the AL West. The A's are supposed to begin a three-game series in Seattle against the Mariners on Tuesday following a scheduled off day on Monday.
