Lamar Jackson of Baltimore Ravens named No. 1 in 'Top 100 Players of 2020' countdown
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was named the NFL's No. 1 player as NFL Network unveiled the top 10 of its 100-player countdown on Wednesday night.
The rankings for "The Top 100 Players of 2020" were determined by votes from NFL players. This year, NFL Films collected 970 ballots and interviewed 132 players, according to the league.
Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas rounded out the top five.
This is the seventh time in the show's 10-season history that a quarterback earned the countdown's top spot. Previous quarterbacks to be ranked No. 1 were: Tom Brady (2011, 2017 and 2018), Aaron Rodgers (2012), Peyton Manning (2014) and Cam Newton (2016). Donald was last year's top-rated player.

Jackson, who wasn't even ranked on "The Top 100 Players of 2019" list, earned unanimous NFL MVP honors while leading the Ravens to a league-best record of 14-2. In his first season as a full-time starter, he threw for 3,127 yards and 36 touchdowns, improving on his rookie numbers of 1,201 yards and six touchdowns. A dynamic dual-threat quarterback, Jackson broke Michael Vick's single-season rushing yardage record, finishing with 1,206 yards while adding seven touchdowns on the ground.
